Mysterious Man In Flying Car Bringing Too Much Fun?!

By CORY CHOY & FLETCHER WOLFE

“Reports are streaming in that people are being whisked away from their schools, dead-end jobs, and boring family trips by a man in a flying car. Now our lines are ringing off the hook with the resounding question– Where are they going, and who is behind all this???”

Sean Cooney has released a new video for his hot summer jam “California,” a single off his 2012 release, The Last Thing I Heard Before the Zombie Apocalypse.  View it right here on Cooney’s YouTube channel.

Blending the sounds of Katy Perry and T-Pain with all of the party of Andrew WK, Sean is a serious singer with a crystal-clear voice and a songwriter-producer with a tremendous talent for creating infectious pop.

This video is the co-directorial debut for Cory Choy and Fletcher Wolfe, who met in New York University’s film school and have been best buddies ever since. Wolfe is a freelance director of photography and gaffer whose credits include the Barry Levinson/Al Pacino feature film The Humbling, the 2014 SXSW feature Late Phases, and music videos for Rush Midnight and Metric. Choy is a founding member of Silver Sound, and he has become increasingly involved in producing music videos as the director of the Silver Sound Music Video Film Festival + Band Battle, now entering its sixth year.

“California” is a celebration of summertime fun and freedom. It follows Cooney on a Pied Piper journey across America in a flying car and culminates in a kickin’ beach party.  Imagery inspired by flower power, glam rock, and teen classics from Blue Hawaii to Rock & Roll High School captures the spirit of youth revolt.

Photographer Nathan Jones captured beautiful behind-the-scenes photographs, including the following. You can see all of them here and here.
